ROTARY CLUB

WEEKLY MEETING HELD TODAY. The weekly meeting of the Masterton Rotary Club, which was held today was well, attended. The president Mr P. F. Fagan, presided. The speaker was Mr A. H. Bogle, of Wanganui (a report of whose address appears on Page 7). In introducing the speaker, the president said that Mr Bogle was an expresident of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors and had served with the New Zealand Engineers and the Royal Engineers from 1915 to 1919. He represented Victoria College at Rugby, hockey, tennis and cricket and was New Zealand University champion hurdler in 1908 and 1909. When Mr Bogle was registered as a surveyor, in 1905 he was probably the youngest surveyor at that time. In moving a hearty vote of thanks to the speaker. Mr E. G. Coddington expressed his pleasure at the interesting and capable manner in which Mr Bogle had presented his subject, which dealt with early survey work in New Zealand. . ~ At next week’s meeting the president Mr P F. Fa'gan, will hand over his office to the president- elect, Mr Norman Lee. Members and their wives will be the guests of the club.
