PERSONAL ITEMS
Mr and Mrs G. McWhirter, of Mauriceville, have left on holiday. Mrs C. M. Childs, Mauriceville, is visiting her daughter in Nelson, Mr and Mrs A. Dabinett and daughter, are the guests of Mr and Mrs F. Pain, Mauriceville. Miss Joan Bunny, of the New Zealand Army Nursing Corps, is spending furlough with her mother, Mrs A. R. Bunny, Bunny Street. In a piano solo contest for competitors under 12 years of age, held at the annual festival of the Wellington Competitions Society yesterday, Jill Messenger and Betty Barnes, both of Masterton, were two of- the four highly commended by the judge. There were 23 entries. Jill Messenger was also very highly commended, with three others, in the piano solo class for children under 10 years of age. There were 17 entries in this class.
