Farmers’ Federation.

At the inaugurated meeting of the 'Farmers’ Federation Council, held in Wellington yesterday, Mr W. Mulholland was elected the first chairman of the council. The council incorporates representation from the New Zealand Sheepowners’ Federation, the dairy industry, the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, the pig industry, bobby calf pools, Fruitgrowers’ Federation, United Wheatgrowers’ Association, the poultry industry, Tobacco Growers’ Association Dominion Council of Commercial Gardeners, small fruit growers and hop growers. Invitations have also been issued to other organisations to be represented, including honey producers and maize-growers. The council appointed the following as members of the executive: Messrs H. D. Acland, B. V. Cooksley, L. Hammond, W. Marshall, T. C. Brash and K. J. Holyoake. Mr O. G. Thomas, 8.C0m., A.R.A.N.Z., A.1.A.N.Z., A.C.S.N.Z., was appointed temporary secretary of the council.
