“BRITISH INTELLIGENCE.” The programme tonight is headed by "British Intelligence.” Warners have been notable on many occasions for making pictures with such a keen sense of impending events, that one might almost believe I the company's producers were endow--led with some psychic sense. I "British Intelligence” is fiction of lan order, guaranteed to stiI mulate movie audiences thirst for thrills and excitement. The leading roles are played by Boris Karloff and Margaret Lindsay. As Helene, Miss Lindsay succeeds in . convincing the heads of the German Intelligence that she is a true servant of the Fatherland to such purpose that she is sent to England to work with Germany’s cleverest and most notorious spy, Franz Strendler. Strendler, a part played with convincing cunning and utter ruthlessness by Boris Karloff, has so completely won the confidence of a British Cabinet Minister, through representing himself as a Belgian wounded and victimised by the invading Germans, that he has been able- to learn of British plans almost as soon as they are made.
The associate feature, “Where Did You Get That Girl,” is a fast-moving musical.
