STATE THEATRE

“THAT UNCERTAIN FEELING.” “That Uncertain Feeling’’ which will be screened tonight, is a sparkling, witty and splendidly-acted piece of cinema entertainment. Merle Oberon and Melvyn Douglas play the leading roles. He is an insurance salesman who is too busy selling insurance to pay much attention to the wife he loves, but, unfortunately, ignores. She is beautiful and discontented. So all things considered, Mr and Mrs Drake find that drifting apart is a much easier job than either could have imagined six years ago, when they were first married. As is usual when _ a young, beautiful and neglected wife finds time on her hands and resentment in her heart, another man looms over the horizon. This time the snake in the grass is an extremely amusing individual. He is Burgess Meredith, who plays a difficult role extremely well. He takes the part of an eccentric pianist. The film ends with the husband and wife once more reconciled. and the surrealist fading out of

the picture. Merle Oberon plays Mrs Drake with all the arts she is capable of. Melvyn Douglas is excellent as the husband, and Burgess Meredith shows just what he is capable of in the comedy line. Alan Mowbray has a small part, and the only regret is that more is not seen of him. In short, an excellent comedy film which everyone should enjoy.
