The written reply by the Iranian Government to representations by the British and Soviet Governments in regard to the presence in Iran of an excessive number of German nationals, has not so far been received in London, although it is expected very shortly. Preliminary indications of its nature,- derived from oral communications from the Iranian authorities concerned, have, .however, not given a favourable impression of the Iranian, Government’s attitude.
