Mrs H. R. Whitta. of Pahiatua, is on a visit to Christchurch. Mrs C. Skeet was a Masterton visitor to Palmerston North this week. Misses E. and P. Trass, of Masterton, have been on a visit to Palmerston North.

Mrs Pt. C. Scott lias returned to Pongaroa from a holiday spent in Palmerston North.

Miss E. Moriarty has returned to Mangamaire from a holiday spent at Trentham as the guest of Mrs J. C. Moriarty. Mrs H. F. Nicoll, of Christchurch, and formerly of Masterton, and her daughter, Miss Valerie Riddiford, who have been visiting the North Island, have returned home.

At last night’s meeting of the Wairarapa College Board of Governors, the chairman, Mr W. R. Nicol, stated that he was pleased to announce that Miss Elsie Hancox, daughter of Mr and Mrs G. G. Hancox, College House, was making a good recovery from her illness. It was decided to send Miss Hancox a letter, wishing her a speedy recovery.

Old Masterton residents will regret to learn of the death of Mrs Annie Cecelia Bagge, of Blenheim, wife of Mr Herbert Reginald Bagge (eldest son of the late Mr William Bagge, Masterton's first Postmaster) and a brother of Miss Muriel Bagge, a former local district schoolteacher. The death of Mr Bagge’s mother some time ago, at an advanced age, robbed New Zealand of another of its very early pioneers.
