SOCIAL GATHERING

BANGERS BASKETBALL CLUB. A very pleasant social gathering was held at the residence of Mr H. Pratt. Church Street. Masterton, by the Rangers Basketball Club. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Mrs To Tau. During the evening songs were sung by Misses Nini, Morris and M. Fulton and were greatly appreciated, each singer being encored. Extras were also played by Mr Fulton and Mr Flaws. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee.

Mr Askew, president of the club, said that the patron. Mr Norman Lee, had come along to the gathering in order to present to each member of the two teams a broach from the hospital indoor staff. Mr Lee said he felt very proud of both teams, and congratulated the A team on winning the ladies’ junior championship. Mr R. Thomson (coach) thanked the members for their keenness and loyalty to the club and presented a medal to Miss Connie Walker for the most improved player during the season.
