MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BOARD i INCREASE IN CONNECTED I LOAD. NEW INSTALLATIONS DURING PAST MONTH. (“Times-Afie” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board held at Carterton today the Secretary-Mana-ger, Mr George Brown, stated that the net revenue return last month showed an increase of £212 on last year and a gain of £32 on the estimate. For the first four months this financial year (April-July), there was a gain of £1374 on last year and £93 on the estimate. Due to daylight saving and restrictions imposed on account of the power shortage £7OO had been lost in revenue in three months (May, June and July). During the month a further 168 light points, 66 heat points, 28 ranges, 16 water-heat-ers, 23 motors and one weeder were installed, increasing the connected load by 249 kilowats. The increase in unit consumption in July was within the limit specified by the Electricity Controller. During July 15 new consumers were connected to the system, making the total number of consumers 6234 against 6122 twelve months ago. The chief engineer, Mr H. B. Keenan, stated that 20 service connections were erected in the various areas during the month. A considerable amount of maintenance work had been carried out. The non-delivery of transformers to replace the existing ones in the Featherston, Martinborough and Masterton bqroughs was causing anxiety. The present transformers were considerably overloaded.
