CHURCHILL TO BROADCAST

While returning home, Mr Churchill, accompanied by the Service chiefs who participated in the Anglo-American discussions,’ visited Iceland and inspected British and American troops stationed on the island. This accounted for the delay on the return trip. Arrangements are being made for Mr Churchill to broadcast, probably on August 24, to the people of Britain and the Empire, when he will give a full personal account of his, talks with President Roosevelt.

Mr H. Quo Tai-chi stated al Chungking that the Chinese Government and people would wholeheartedly welcome'and endorse the Anglo-American declaration.

A broadcast from Tokio. picked up by Columbia, said the Chungking Government was preparing to build fourteen airfields, for the use of Britain, the United States and Russia.
