THOROUGHBRED STOCK
SALE AT CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. August 15. At a sale of thoroughbred stock today, the 10-year-old stallion, Friday Night, a brother to Phar Lap, was sold to Timpany Bros., Southland, for 200 guineas, and a two-year-old filly by Friday Night from Creaseless was sold to R. and G. Dunlop, Matamata, for 30 guineas. The latter buyers also secured the three-year-old gelding Square Cut, by Winning Hit from Grey Vixen, for 32| guineas. Two Paper Money two-year-olds, bred at the Mt Barker Stud, Wanakah solicited keen competition. One, a black filly from Costume by Pink Coat, was sold to Mr W. R. Adamson, Westland, for 220 guineas. Mr Adamson is owner of Jolly Time, who was bred at the same stud. A second juvenile, a bay colt from Fairwood, a half-sister to Tauramai, Rin Tin Tin, and Charmaine, was purchased by the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association, as agents, for 240 guineas This colt will race as Mt Barker.
Noble Fox and Tidewaiter were catalogued, but were withdrawn from sale.
