REMUERA SEAT BALLOT FOR CANDIDATE TO BE HELD. . MR ENDEAN’S NAME NOT INCLUDED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.! AUCKLAND, August 14. More than 300 members of the National Party from the electorate decided to select a candidate by postal ballot from the five nominations received for the Remuera seat at a meeting held at the Remuera Library tonight. The names to go to the ballot are: Miss Ellen Melville, Mr J. R. Butland, Mr B. H. Kingston, Mr M. J. Moodabe and Mr A. Tronson. The present member for Remuera, Mr Endean, did not submit his name for selection when the branch committee met to consider candidates for the coming election, and his name in consequence did not go forward. However, the leader of the party, Mr Holland, later announced that Mr Endean was going to contest the seat as the National candidate. TIMARU ELECTORATE. CANDIDATE SELECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU, August 14. Subject to confirmation by the Canterbury provincial executive, Mr McDonald, Greymouth, will be the National candidate for the Timaru electorate. Mr McDonald, who is 34, has taken an active part in the work of the National Party. He is chairman of the Grey branch, is Westland delegate on the Canterbury divisional executive, and one of the Canterbury representatives on the Dominion council of the party.
