HALF=MILE RECORD
KINDERGARTEN'S IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE. PRAISED BY AUSTRALIAN WRITERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, Noon.) SYDNEY, This Day. The “Telegraph’s” turf editor says Kindergarten’s half-mile gallop was the fastest ever recorded in Australia. His time (given as 464 seconds) has never been approached in this country. “It is the best track trial I have seen in a long experience of racing and private gallops,” the writer adds. “Kindergarten is even better than New Zealanders claim. I expect to see him the best of all the cracks in his weight for age races in Sydney this spring. A strong following wind was, of course, an aid to the time, but the 464 seconds, combined with the cavalier manner in which he treated a champion like Lucrative, was entirely convincing.” The “Herald” describes. Kindergarten as a beautiful mover and adds that he gallops at great speed with a minimum of effort and promises to be a formidable opponent for the best Australian horses in weight for age events.
