REGENT THEATRE
■s- - “GERONIMO.” “Geronimo” is a superb story of the frontier days which will be shown at the Regent Theatre tonight. Geronimo and his treacherous tribe of Apache Indians relentlessly raid and ravage the great south-west which the United States purchased from Mexico. General Steele is sent to subdue these brutal braves who dare the might of a young nation. But Geronimo is not alone. Aided by unscrupulous politicians who sell him arms, he continues his raids. As the campaign begins in earnest, Lieutenant John Steele, Junr., fresh from West Point, joins his father. General Steele had long ago given up his family for the army. The General sends out Captain Starrett and Sneezer, crusty Indian Scout, to sue for peace with Geronimo. Jack is refused permission to go along. The mission returns with a battered band of California-bound settlers, almost annihilated by Geronimo. On a trip to the fort, young Steele breaks and sets out to trap Geronimo singlehanded. There are excellent supporting pictures including latest overseas newsreel. Plans are at Nimmo’s and the theatre.
