LABOUR CANDIDATE SELECTED. TO OPPOSE MR J. A. LEE. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 12. A postal ballot to determine the Labour Party nomination for the Grey Lynn electorate closed on Saturday and resulted in the selection of Mr J. Sayegh. There were three other aspirants for nomination, Messrs F. Hackett, J. J. Sullivan and P. McGregor Stewart. Mr Sayegh is chairman of the Transport Board and is a member of the harbour board, the, hospital board, and the Auckland Electric Power Board. He has been connected with the Labour Party for the past 20 years, and contested the city mayoralty at the recent elections. The present member for Grey Lynn is the leader of the Democratic Labour Party, Mr Lee.
