DESTROYER SUNK
LOSS OF H.M.S. DEFENDER. ALL MEMBERS OF CREW SAFE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1.0 p.m.) RUGBY, August 10. The Admiralty announces that the destroyer Defender has been sunk. There was no loss of life. Completed in 1931, the Defender was a ship of 1,375 tons, with a normal complement of 145.
