TWENTY=FIRST BIRTHDAY
LANSDOWNE CELEBRATION. On Saturday night Mr and Mrs W. Harding entertained a large number of guests at their residence, Lansdowne, in celebration of the 21st birthday of their daughter, Miss Olive Harding. A most enjoyable time .was spent in dancing. The guest of honour received a large number of presents, testifying to her popularity. Mr Harding presented his daughter with the ‘ key of the door. - ’ Mr H. Playle (Carterton) proposed the health of Miss Harding, and Mr C. Williams that of Mr and Mrs W. Harding; Mr Ashton replied on behalf of Miss Harding. Supper was provided by Mr and Mrs Harding and was greatly appreciated. The health of two soldier guests, Privates C. Nielsen (Mauriceville) and Condon (Mauriceville) was also drunk. The gathering was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
