FINE OF £5O. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 8. William Nelson Thompson, boilermaker, whose car collided witli a tramcar in Queen Street last night, admitted having been intoxicated while in charge of the vehicle. In the S.M. Court, Mr F. K. Hunt. S.M., imposed a fine of £5O, remarking: “I was going to increase the fines but as he is a wage-earner I will treat him the same as the others who have come before me this week.” Accused’s licence was cancelled for 12 months.
