BUILDING SOCIETY
WORKMEN’S FRIEND NO. 2. APPROPRIATION GOES TO FEATHERSTON. An extraordinary general meeting of the Workmen's Friend No. 2 Building Society was held last evening, Mr W. Kemp presiding. A, ballot was held for the appropriation of £4OO. Messrs E. J. Brown, E. H. Morten, and C. W. Walker were appointed scrutineers. The winning number represented shares held by Mr N, Shepherd, of Featherston, who was declared entitled to the appropriation. Subsequent to the extraordinary general meeting a meeting of directors was held, Mr W. Kemp presiding, there being also present Messrs E. H. Alorton, C. V/. Walker, E. J. Brown, A. E. Hubbard, S. M. Gilding and FI. L. Price. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs T. B. Braggins and A. V. Dixon. The finance report as presented by the secretary was adopted. A valuation of property for a recent appropriation was received and found to be in order. The secretary was authorised to instruct the society’s solicitors to prepare the necessary documents.
