WAIRARAPA COLLEGE TEAMS. Wairarapa College hockey and basketball teams are playing matches away from home this week. The junior A hockey team, which is playing Hutt Valley Memorial Technical College at Petone today is: June Couper (.captain), Margaret Fly, Norma Stains, Patricia Mason, June Phillips, Moira Bredin, Mary Shouler, Pat Downing, Brenda Jaine, Eileen Holes, Sanchia Hunter; emergencies, Betty Durward and Natalie Rogers.
The senior A team to play Wanganui Girls’ College at Wanganui tomorrow is as follows: Lucy Wilton (captain), Bernice Dixon, Melva McPherson, Thelma Saunders, Edna Palmer. Gwenyth Morice, Ruby Steven, Shirley Russell, Evelyn McGovern, Rosalie Hanley. Jean Bannister; emergency, Betty Parker. The A basketball team to play in the Quadrangular Tournament at Wellington against Hutt Valley High School. Wellington East Girls’ College, and Dannevirke High School tomorrow will be: Defence, Dorothy Heckler. Pauline Macalister, Noeline Bradley, Barbara Durward, Hira Tauwhare; centres, Valerie Berry. Lois Dickel, Heather Douglas. Waireka Nini; goal, Irene Shoosmith (captain), Lola Cretney, Ngaere Fowler.
This team leaves today by the afternoon train for Wellington and returns on Saturday morning.
