PERSONAL ITEMS

Mrs W. Hoar, of Cambridge Terrace, Masterton, is visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs S. Turner, of Solway, have left to take up their residence in Shannon.

Miss O. McLeod, of Featherston, leftyesterday on a holiday which is to be spent in Auckland. Mrs R. Moore, Makuri, who has been the guest of Mrs A. Rankin, Rakaunui, has returned home. Mrs Denis Fairbrother, of the Bay of Islands, is at present staying at Kent House, Colombo Road, Masterton. Mrs VZ. James, country districts subcentre, and Mrs J. Willett, Featherston sub-centre, are visiting Wellington for the annual meeting of the New Zealand Red Cross Society. The death occurred at Auckland yesterday of Mrs A. Blade, widow of the late Mr R. E. Blade, formerly of Kopuaranga and Carterton, at the age of 90 years. Miss C. Burrows is spending a holiday in Masterton prior to joining the nursing staff of the Gisborne Hospital. Miss BurroxVs, who received her training at Masterton Hospital, recently completed additional training at Wellington hospital.

Mrs Stan Thomas, Villa Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Auckland. One of her sons, Leading Aircraftman Eric Eastwood, R.N.Z. Air Force, has proceded overseas for further training, while two other sons, Privates John and Ernest Eastwood, have arived safely at their destination overseas.

Bunny; Featherston, Mesdames G. L. Sharp and J. Willett; Ka-hutara-Pahautea, Mrs D. C. Collins; Martinborough, Mrs C. Johns; centre, Mrs A. Stewart (Centre Commandant of Voluntary Aid), Misses R. Elliott and M. Thurston (hon. secretary North Island Voluntary Aid Committee).
