DESTRUCTION OF GERMAN DIVISION AND MECHANISED REGIMENT. GUNS AND SUPPLY TRAIN CAPTURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) - (Received This Day, 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, August 5. A Moscow radio message, describing the destruction of the 253rd German infantry division, stated that 2250 officers and men were killed, and that 24 field guns, 29 mortars, 47 lorries and 90 motor cycles, with the division’s supply train, were captured. Some 500 Germans were killed during the rout of the 111th mechanised regiment.
