WAIRARAPA UNION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. THIRD GRADE FIXTURES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fortnightly meeting of the Management Committee of the Wairarapa Fugby Football Union was held in the P. and A. Society’s rooms last evening, Mr K. G. Fairbrother presiding. There were also present: Messrs S. Henson, R. Howard, F. Morton, M. J. Parker, V. Welch, F. Brough and H. A. McPhee. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. T. Scott, G. B. Booth and G. Udy. The treasurer reported a credit balance at the Bank of New Zealand of £l7l 18s 8d and at the Post Office Savings Bank of £7 9s 7d. Accounts amounting to £6O 17s 8d were passed for payment. The Wairarapa College wrote asking to be exempted from playing under the Union on August 23 as the College team would be participating in the annual Rugby tournament at the Hutt on August 23 and 25. The request was agreed to. The Wellington Rugby Football Union wrote in regard to a return match with the Wairarapa seniors stating that the only available date was August 30. It was decided that the matter be considered at the meeting on August 18. The Wairarapa Union’s application for a match in Wairarapa with the Army team was referred to the Headquarters of the Central Military District for further consideration. The Masterton Football Club was given permission to play a return match with the Homewood Club at Te Ore Ore, and also to take up a collection in aid of Ralph Braggins, a member of the club who is in hospital with a broken leg. The Athletic Football Club, Wellington, wrote stating that it was arranging a trip for the Wellington fourth grade team at the close of the season, and asking if the Wairarapa could field a team to meet Wellington. The matter was held over till the next meeting of the committee. Arrangements for a return match between the Bush and Wairarapa third grade representatives was left in the hands of the secretary and selector. Mr H. K. Reid was thanked for his report of the senior representative team’s visit to Pahiatua and Wanganui. Mr M. J. Parker was accorded a vote of thanks for his services in connection with the Wairarapa Warriors’ team. THIRD GRADE FIXTURES. The third grade A and B fixtures were re-arranged as follows for the remaining matches: — A Grade. August 9: Old Boys v. College, at Masterton; Red Star v. Masterton, at Masterton; Carterton a bye. August 16: Old Boys v. Carterton, at Carterton; College v. Red Star, at Masterton; Masterton a bye. August 23: Old Boys v. Red Star, at Masterton; Carterton.'v. Masterton, at Carterton; College a bye. B Grade. August 9: Martinborough v. Featherston. at Featherston; Carterton v. Dalefleld, at Carterton. August 16: Martinborough v. Dalefield, at Martinborough; Carterton v. Featherston, at Carterton. FOURTH GRADE MATCHES. August 9: Masterton v. Carterton, at Carterton; College v, Martinborough, at Masterton.
