RAISING BY TAXATION FAVOURED. WANGANUI RESOLUTION. (By Telegmnh—Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. The Wanganui Chamber of Commerce decided to support a proposal by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and the Bishop of Nelson that patriotic funds be raised by extra taxation. The proposal that patriotic funds should be raised by taxation was first made by the Masterton District Patriotic Committee. The proposal was rejected by the National Patriotic Council, to which it was referred.
