MAHUNGA CLUB MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. QUALIFYING ROUND. Men members of the Mahunga Golf Club played the qualifying round for the championship on Saturday, the following being the best net scores: —L. T. Wylie, 64; M. Thornton. 65; B. V. Bodie, 66; O. V. Berry, N. O. Jones, N. Bach, 68; G. R. Beecroft, K. McFarlane, 69; S. Jenkins, K. J. Rew, 70; C. A. Carrig, 71. MASTERTON R. E. BAKER WINS HORNABROOK CUP. The Hornabrook Cup, which is competed for annually by members of the Masterton Golf Club, has been won this year by R. E. Baker, whose scores were: —First round, 2 down; second round, 4 up. A bogey competition was won by J. C. Forsyth 5 up, with R. E. Baker 4 up second, RIVERSIDE PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP PLAY. Ideal conditions prevailed for the second medal round of the president’s handicap played at Riverside links on Saturday afternoon. That there was keen competition is evidenced by the cards handed in, the first three being one under bogey for the course, viz.:— C. Walker, D. Costello and M. Manson, 68. The next best were those of E Reid, R. Bell, 69; W. Palamontain, T U. Wellington, 70. Ladies' Mrs Rawlins, 73; Mrs Palamontain, 76; Mrs Naan, 78; Mrs Gilliland, 79.
