FLYING FORTRESS BOMBS KIEL. GERMAN TANKER DESTROYED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. August 3. In daylight yesterday the Royal Air Force continued its attacks on enemy bases and works in Germany and German-occupied territory. In northern France attacks were made on a number of enemy troop concentrations and other objectives. A heavily-laden German tanker of about. 2000 tons was attacked yesterday afternoon by Beaufort aircraft, of the Coastal Command off Ostend) states an Air Ministry communique. The tanker was hit by a torpedo and burst into flames, and within a few minutes its deck was awash and it was sinking rapidly. One British aircraft is missing.
