Youths Break Away from Police.
Two youths broke away from a police escort at the Dunedin railway station on Friday evening while being taken from the North Island to the Borstal Institution at Invercargill, and are still at large. Staff Dance. A successful and most enjoyable dance was held in the Municipal Hall cn Saturday night by the staff of Woolworth’s (N.Z.) Ltd. There were about 300 dancers present. Under the able direction of Mr I. E. McChesney as M.C., the proceedings went with a swing, the music being supplied by the Blue River Dance Band. The statue waltz competition was won by Miss B. Savage and Mr G. Stevenson, and the Monte Carlo by Miss Joan Irwin and partner. A hard, dry cough is one to dread, With anguished throat and aching head.
