EKETAHUNA
RED CROSS SOCIETY ENJOYABLE BALL. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Red Cross Society’s Ball which was held in the Eketahuna Public Hall on Thursday night, proved an unqualified success from every point of view. The visitors included a large number from Masterton and Pahiatua. Splendid music for the dancing was supplied by Mr Ken Hicks, of Pahiatua, and he was assisted by the local Concert Orchestra. •" -1 'Y?'!’
The duties of M.C. was capably carried out by Mr V. Wimsett. During an interval, Mr N. Lee, president of the Masterton Centre of the Red Cross Society, briefly explained the aims and objects of the movement. He congratulated the Eketahuna subbranch on the success of its operations. Mrs Stewart, of Masterton, also spoke of the Society’s activities. Mr V. Wimsett, president of the Eketahuna subbranch, thanked those present for the encouraging support which had been received.
A buffet supper was dispensed by a capable ladies’ committee. The supper tables were tastefully decorated. . The committee responsible for the ball received warm congratulations on the result of their efforts. It was one of the most enjoyable and successful social functions ever held in Eketahuna. Personal Items. Mrs E. Coster, Stanley Street, is visiting Waipukurau. Mrs E. D. Toohill, Church Street, is on a visit to Wellington. . Mrs E. Albrechtsen, Haswell Street, is at present in Wellington. Mr and Mrs Wilson have returned to Palmerston North after having spent a holiday with their daughter. Mrs R. Holford, John Street.
