SHIP CONSTRUCTION
PLANS IN NEW SOUTH WALES DEVELOPMENT ON NEW SITE. SLIPWAYS FOR 10,000 TON VESSELS (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. An agreement between the State and Federal Governments to establish new permanent shipbuilding yards is expected to be reached next week. It is understood that a plan to reopen Walsh Island has been abandoned and that a new site has been chosen. The proposed site is considered to be large enough for three slipways to hold 10,000-ton vessels.
