PASSAGE MADE WITHOUT LOSS
LONDON, August 1
Ono of tlio largest convoys ever to cross the Atlantic has just brought the Third Canadian Division to Great Britain. The journey was made without the loss of a single ship. In addition to 1 lie Canadian division, the convoy brought nurses and doctors, hundreds of United States technicians, a contingent of airmen t rained‘in Canada and 250 lumber,jacks from Nova Scotia. Some of Ihe nurses and doctors were from Canada and other from the United States.
The contingent also included Amcrivans joining the famous Eagle Squadron. Cargoes of large supplies of ammunition and other war material, as well as quantities of food for the people of Great Britain, were also brought to this country. There was some excitement during the voyage when an escorting warship was seen chasing round the convoy and, dropping depth charges. The Royal Canadian Navy shared in the escort of the convoy.
