BOXING
PROFESSIONAL CONTESTS. WELLINGTON SEASON OPENED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. At the Town Hall last night the Wellington Boxing Association opened the 1941 season with a tournament in which two 10-round professional contests were the main features. In the main, professional contest, Jackie Davis (Hastings), proved too rugged for Mayne Morton (Hutt Valley), and won cn a technical knockout. The contest between Billy Brown (Wellington), 8.12, and Tot Hogarth (Greymouth), 8.5, was a boxing display as distinguished from fighting, and was won by Brown, on. points.
