GOLF CAMPBELL CUP CONTEST. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following were the best cards handed in by the men in the final round for the Campbell Cup, played by members of the Pirinoa Golf Club: G. Sutherland 88-15-73; S. Hall 97-24-73; J. Riwai 84-11-73. In the count back S. Hall won the trophy for the best net score in the final round of the Campbell Cup. He also won the cup with an aggregate of 206 for three best cards out of five. S. Thomas was second with 213 and N. Hume third with 215. The ladies rose bowl was won by Mrs Herangi with an aggregate of 225 points, with Mrs S. Thomas second with 235 points. The following is the draw for the first eliminating round for the senior championship: B. McMaster v D. Tikao, M. Waiwera v M. McLeod, J. Riwai v G. Sutherland, W. Stewart v T. Hume, S. Thomas v M. Herangi. For the junior championship the following is the order of play: H. Carter v D. Didsbury, F. Lovegrove v J. Carter, S. Hall v H. Matakatea, N. Hume v R. Lovegrove, K. Waiwera v W. Charteris. In the ladies’ championship the draw is: Mrs Sutherland v Mrs McKenzie, Mrs Thomas v Mrs Tikao, Mrs Carter v Miss Tilson, Mrs Bragg v Mrs Herangi. Mrs Warren a bye. Personal. The funeral of the late Mrs John Hunter took place at Martinborough on Tuesday. The pfill-bearers were Messrs A. Turei, T. Rewi, W. Karaitiana and J. To Whaiti. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev Neild.
