PATRIOTIC FUNDS
WELLINGTON PROVINCIAL COUNCIL. PROVISION FOR REHABILITATION After allowing for usual commitments and the sum of £50,000 that the National Board would require for the year May 1941-42, it was reported at the last meeting of the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council, there would be a balance of £62,000 in the Provincial Patriotic Fund. The standing committee had decided to place £60,000 aside to form a rehabilitation fund. The committee’s action was confirmed and in view of the money that had been received since and other money in transit, it was agreed to increase the amount put aside for rehabilitation to £90,000. New zone quotas on the basis of half population and half capital value were submitted. Some members drew the attention of the council to the fact that some clubs and organisations were operating imprest accounts other than through zone committees. It was resolved that where imprests were being operated or any other expenditure made, it must be done through the zone committee and that receipts and statements when reimbursements were needed must be forwarded through the zone secretary to the provincial treasurer.
