OBITUARY

MR WALTER GRANTHAM. The death occurred suddenly at Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, early this morning of Mr Walter Grantham, formerly a well-known, resident of Masterton and district. The late Mr Grantham, who was 64 years of age, was born in Masterton and for some years worked as a sawmill hand for Messrs W. Booth and Co.. Ltd., at Carterton. Later he was engaged at the May Morn mill at Mangaroa and subsequently, about 30 years ago. went to the Gisborne district, where he was similarly employed. He is survived by a widow and a grown-up family, one son, Mr Ray Grantham, being employed at the Masterton Railway Station. Messrs William and George Grantham, of Masterton, are brothers and Mesdames A. Gordon (Hastings) and M. Christerson (Palmerston North) arc sisters. Mrs Lochore (Masterton) is a step-sister.
