DAIRY SEASON DALEFIELD FACTORY OPENING ON TUESDAY. ("Times-Age” Special;) As a result of a large number of dairy cows coming to profit in the Dalefield and Matarawa districts, the Dalefield cheese factory will open the season on Tuesday next. It is more than likely that other factories in the district will open in the course of a week’s time. Every indication points to a record make of cheese for Wairarapa factories during the current season. Several factories are making preparations in this direction. Parkvale factory has installed an additional whey tank at its factory to accommodate the extra whey that will be run off as a result of increased - cheese production. Messrs Knutson and were entrusted with the work. This firm is also assembling another tank for the Kokotau cheese factory. This tank is seven feet high and seven feet in diameter, and when finished will accommodate 1697 gallons of whey. Both these tanks were in use before, one at Clareville and the other at South Featherston, 'and were dismantled and remodelled. The contractors are confident that although these two tanks have been in use for probably 20 years, they will last for another 20 years. Parcel Evenings, A parcel evening and dance will be tendered to Miss Abbott in the Clareville Social Hall tonight in honour of her approaching marriage. Miss Abbott is a popular young lady of the district and there is sure to be a large attendance. The Belvedere schoolroom was comfortably filled last evening, when a parcel evening and dance was held in honour of the recent marriage of Mrs C. Bell (nee Miss Benge). The music was provided by Mrs Rogers, of Dalefield,"and much-appreciated extras were played by Mrs W. E. Knowles and Mr C. Bell. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr and Mrs P. Burgess. Mr A. E. Reid made an efficient M.C. Mr A. E. Reid, on behalf of those present, called upon Mrs Bell to accept and open the many gift parcels. Mr C. Bell, on behalf of his wife, returned thanks. The hostesses for the evening were Mesdames W. E. Knowles, Couper, H. Sage, Hood, and Miss P. Zabell.
