EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT

FIRE FIGHTING APPARATUS DISTRIBUTED. PRECAUTIONS IN MASTERTON. Preparations to meet a possible emergency in Masterton were advanced a step further today, when fire-fighting equipment was distributed by the Masterton Brigade. For the use of the E.P.S. fire-fight-ing unit, bucket pumps, shovels and rakes for handling incendiary bombs and dry sand were deposited at different points around the town, together with, where necessary, wooden boxes for storing the equipment.. The boxes, shovels and rakes were made by the staff of the Masterton Fire Brigade. The equipment will be located at the following residences: Messrs D. F. Andrews, 115 Essex Street; C. Cole, 19 Wrigley Street; C. Loader, High Street; J. McGregor, 5 Roberts Road; B. W. Ackerman, 7 The Terrace; T. B. Braggins, 85 Bannister Street', and also at some point in Colombo Road and in the Lincoln Road area, not yet determined.
