WEDDING

PEARSON—MACKAY. A wedding of wide interest was celebrated in St. Luke’s Church, Wadestown, on Wednesday last, when Ngara, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs lan Mac Kay, Highland Park, was married to Captain Tom Vivian Pearson (formerly of Masterton), second son of Mr and Mrs T. D. Pearson, Balclutha. The bride, who was escorted by her father wore a gown of magnolia brocaded satin, with an unhemmed tulle veil, set off by a coronet of miniature arum lilies. She carried a bouquet of lilies of the same variety. The bridesmaids, Miss Fiona MacKay, sister of the bride, and Miss Valerie Dawson, wore gowns of sprigged organdie,‘fashioned on period lines with caps of natural scarlet flowers, and carried scarlet bouquets to tone. ■ The bride’s mother, Mrs lan MacKay, wore a teal blue ensemble, with wine velour hat and accessories of similar colour. The bridegroom s sister, Miss Betty Pearson, was in a green ensemble with hat to match. The best man was Mr Colin Aikman. and the Rev. H. Taepa (Masterton) was groomsman. The ceremony, which was a fully choral one, was conducted by the Rev. N. Watkins, assisted by the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich, MastertoThe church was decorated by Mrs Bernard Withers. During the signing of the register, “Where’er You Walk” was sung by Miss Jocelyn Fields, a fellow student of the bride’s. Miss Molly Withers was organist. Afterward, at the parish hall, moie than two hundred guests were entertained at a buffet breakfast. The bride travelled in a three-piece costume of gold and brown check, with nigger brown accessories.
