COURSING

WAIRARAPA CLUB'S COMING MEETING.

Arrangements were made at the last committee meeting of the Wairarapa Coursing Club for a big double event meeting to be held on August 9. when the contests will be for the Physick Cup and Watson Rose Bowl. The Physick Cup contest is one of

the principal stakes of the season and ‘ has been contested every year since the inception of the club in 1928. A strong contingent of competitors is expected from Hawke’s Bay. A full nomination of 16 dogs is expected for the Watson Rose Bowl, which is for maiden dogs. The hares are stated to be running very well and are receiving extra training for the coming meet-

ing. The final meeting of the season will be held on August 30, when the Cooper Cup contest will be decided. The last meeting was reported to be a financial success.
