LONDON. July 27. The absence of any new names and the lack of fresh developments in the latest news from the Easwrnfront seem to indicate that the German drive is being held. Intense ligating continues in the Smolensk area and in the graine It appears that the Russian line is largely intact.. While the Germans complain of bad road conditions the Russian supply system shows no signs of breaking 'down. Last night’s raid on Moscow was described as another failure Six German bombers were shot down and two reconnaissance planes were also destroyed. The Germans Jost more than 40 planes in attacks on Moscow and during the past week more than that number m unsuccessful attacks on Leningrad.
