FORCES IN FIJI
INSPECTION BY GENERAL WILLIAMS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, July 27.
After an inspection of the forces in Fiji, General Sir Guy Williams, military adviser to the New Zealand Government, 'has returned' to the Dominion. General Williams, who has been away from New Zealand for about a fortnight, also paid a brief visit to Tonga. General Williams said he found the New Zealanders in good form and very well looked after. They were training hard. He also saw the native Fijiian troops. “I liked the look of them,” he added. “They ought to’ make good soldiers.”
While in Fiji General Williams conferred with the authorities there and did likewise in Tonga. He will report to the Government on his trip, on which he was accompanied by Major Piggott, a member of his staff.
