COSY THEATRE

“ROAD TO SINGAPORE.” “The Road to Singapore” will be finally shown tonight. “MAN WHO TALKED TOO MUCH.” Warner Bros.’ exciting story of underworld lawyers, “The Man Who Talked Too Much,” starring George Brent, Virginia Bruce, Brenda Marshall, Richard Barthelmess and William Lundigan, will be shown tomorrow night at the Cosy Theatre. The film, adapted from Frank J. Collins’ play, is a fast-paced commentary on underworld life and of lawyers who are ensnared by their own unscrupulous activities. The story tells of a District Attorney, played by Brent, who is disillusioned with his job when he learns that a boy he has convicted is innocent —too late to save him. He resigns and moves to cheap law offices with the support only of a faithful secretary, played by Virginia Bruce. In the associate feature, “Meet the Wildcat,” Ralph Bellamy and Margaret Lindsay share romantic honours as a pair of reckless young Americans seeking to round up a band of art thieves preying upon Mexico City museums. The mood of the story shifts blithely from romance and laughter to whirlwind action and tingling suspense. Joseph Schildkraut is excellent as the mysterious art expert whose activities baffle local police. Allen Jenkins contributes many gay moments as the bewildered taxi-driver who tries to help Bellamy and Miss Lindsay unravel a mass of tangled clues.
