A letter was received from the Featherston Football Club stating that a “field day” was to be held at Featherston towards the close of the football season, and inviting the Red Star Club to enter a team for the race for the Black and White Cup held by the Red Star Club since 1934. It was decided to accede to the request. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late “Toby” Swain, a member of the Red Star seniors, who lost his life in air operations in the war, was carried, members standing for a few moments in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of deceased.

The financial position of the club was reported to be satisfactory. It was announced that C. Roys and J. Golder, of the third grade team, were to proceed to Featherston on Saturday to participate in the Waira-rapa-Bush third grade representative match. This was in addition to the three players from the team previously selected. A sub-committee was appointed to go into the question of providing an Honours Board in connection with members of the club who were serving in the New Zealand forces. Supper was provided by Mrs Renner and greatly appreciated. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr and Mrs Renner for their hospitality. Each meeting of the committee is held at the home of a member, and the next will take place at the residence of Mr N. Harding. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY.
