BRITISH DAY & NIGHT ATTACKS SHIP SUNK <£. ANOTHER DAMAGED. FRANKFORT & MANNHEIM BOMBED. LONDON. July 23. R.A.F. bombers, strongly escorted by fighters, made another successful sweep over Northern France and the Low Countries today. The British planes sank one enemy coastal vessel and damaged another. Objectives near St. Nazaire were bombed. Five enemy fighters were shot down. Five of our bombers and five fighters are missing, with one pilot safe. Frankfurt and Mannheim were the main targets of the R.A.F. in a raid on industrial objectives in Western Germany last night. Docks and aerodromes elsewhere were also bombed. All the British machines returned lyToday, no enemy aircraft were reported over the British coast.
