Advice has been received by Mr and ’Mrs W. L. Dorset. Perry Street. Masterton, that their son, Pvte. J. R. Dorset, is reported missing. Mr W. H. Cocker, son of Mrs J. Cocker, Masterton. has been re-elected president of Auckland University College, and Mi - A. H. Johnston, K.C., reelected vice-president. The Rev. H. J. Irwin, Christchurch, was ordained deacon of Chelmsford Cathedral recently, and is on the staff of Dagenham Parish Church, one of the largest parishes in Great Britain. He was previously working among the men of the forces in Church Army activities. Mr Irwin went to Britain two yars ago. Flying Officer W. F. Jordan, son of the New Zealand High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, has been promoted to the rank of flight lieutenant. When he left school Flight Lieutenant Jordan joined the R.A.F. in the ranks as a wireless operator. Later, on leaving the R.A.F.. he studied for his M.A. degree at St. Andrew’s University. He rejoined the R.A.F. with a commission shortly after the outbreak of the war.
