WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
UPPER PLAIN MEETING. COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Upper Plain Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs Clements. Mrs G. G. Dagg presided over a good attendance. Members made up a parcel of hospital supplies for the Red Cross Society. It was decided to forward three parcels to local soldiers overseas. Mrs Dagg had on exhibition many pieces of poker-work and souvenirs which had been sent from overseas by a soldier of the district. The competitions were won as follows:—Cooking: Scones, Mrs Clements, 1; Mrs Taplin, 2. Sponge roll: Mrs Clements, 1; Mrs W. Taplin, 2.
