EXECUTIVE MEETING
CRIPPLED CHILDREN SOCIETY. GOOD RESULTS FROM TREATMENT. A meeting of the executive of the Wairarapa branch of the Crippled Children Society was held in Masterton yesterday afternoon. Mr E. M. Hodder presided. There were also present: Mesdames H. E. Pither, S. N. Kilgour (Welfare Officer), Nurse Craig, Mr S. L. P. Free and the secretary, Mr H. A. R. Dunderdale. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs R. C. Drummond and H. L. Robinson. A vote of thanks was passed to the Martinborough Borough Council for its donation of £5, the Eketahuna Borough Council for its donation of £2 2s and the Eketahuna Junior branch of the Red Cross Society for its contribution of £l. Two new members were elected and the resignation of a member who had left the district was accepted. The Welfare Officer’s report showed that a large number of visits had been made during the month. Each case had been dealt with and was carefully reviewed. , . . It was decided to make inquiries concerning the next visit of Dr Robertson (Wellington) so that some of the cases previously dealt with could be re-examined and further treatment arranged. Five new cases were registered, one being a transfer from the Wanganui branch. One case had left the district and had been transferred to the Marton branch. Excellent reports were received on the progress of cases which had received treatment and had been operated on. Mrs Kilgour was granted leave of absence-to attend the annual conference of the N.Z. Crippled Children’s Society in Wellington next month.
