Mrs W. A. Todd, who has been spending a holiday at Mangaweka, has returned to Masterton. Mrs Marmaduke Bethel, Canterbury, is staying with her brother, Mr R. F. R. Beetham, “Brancepeth.” Miss Edson, who has been staying with Miss Butement, Essex Street, Masterton, has returned to Napier. Miss V. Blamires, Wellington, and formerly of Masterton, will leave shortly for South Africa where her marriage will take place. Mrs E. W. Jones, Auckland, and her son, Petty Officer F. Jones, R.N., are staying with Mrs D. Phillips, Villa Street, Masterton. Mrs Peter Andrew, who had been staying for the last two months at “Kent House,’’ Colombo Road, Masterton. has returned to her home at Langdale. Mesdames H. H. Daniell and J. A. Betts and Miss D. Todd have been hostesses at various parties, held in Masterton recently in honour of Miss Patricia Jordan, whose marriage will lake place in Masterton tomorrow afternoon. The friends of Mrs S. Pownceby, Senr. and Mrs T. O’Neill, Masterton, will regret to learn of the death of their mother, Mrs Levey, of Petone. Mrs Levey had a family of 13 daughters. There are 88 grandchildren, 19 grandsons being on active service. Two of them, John Pownceby and Phil O'Neill, are reported missing.
