“CHURCHILL” TANK

DRIVEN BY THE KING. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 21. The King recently took charge of one of the new “Churchill” heavy tanks which was showing its perform ance on hilly ground. His Majesty was visiting the factory where these tanks —Britain's latest and most formidable instrument of the kind —are being mass-produced. During a half-hour ride in the tank on the testing ground near the factory he took control of the machine as it charged at high speed up a hill and then turned and thundered down toward a parly of experts who were watching with interest.
