C.J.C. MEETING. JEWISH LAD SCRATCHED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 21. Jewish Lad, who ricked a joint when competing in the steeplechase on the final day of the Auckland June meeting, has beep under treatment since, but has not made the recovery ex pected, and he was withdrawn from his engagements at the Grand National meeting. It may be some months before he will be able to race again. At the time of the mishap Jewish Lad had a commanding lead, and but for the trouble seriously affecting him in the last furlong, he would have been an easy winner.
