BRITISH ISRAEL SOCIETY
MASTERTON BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING. MOVE TO SECURE OFFICIAL RECOGNITION. A number of new members were enrolled at the annual meeting of the Masterton branch of the British Israel World Federation, held in Masterton last night. There was a good attendance of members. It. was stated that the membership of the federation in Britain was increasing by leaps and bounds and as the society's work was considered of value in the war effort a move had been made to obtain official recognition of the society from the Ministry of Information, on the lines of that accorded to other societies, such as the Royal Society of St. George, which was, in a manner, working for a similar end. The matter of approaching, the authorities in New Zealand to obtain official recognition here was left to the incoming committee. Officers were elected and a programme of meetings drawn up.
